Streaming, transcoding, and media storage: platforms for OBS/Nimble/Wowza, IP-TV, and video portals serving thousands of viewers.
A media server handles two distinct tasks: transcoding (heavy computation, best with GPU) and distribution (network and disks). A proper platform separates them: the graphics card handles encoding, NVMe and 10GbE handle distribution, and high-capacity storage bays handle archiving.
A single 1080p stream in 3–4 quality levels consumes 4–6 CPU cores — or 1/10th of a GPU with NVENC. For three or more simultaneous streams, a GPU pays for itself immediately: an L4 or RTX A2000 can encode dozens of streams.
1080p ≈ 5 Mbps per viewer → 5 Gbps per thousand. This means 10GbE and colocation in a data center with a reliable connection; edge caching nodes reduce the load when viewers are geographically dispersed.
One hour of 1080p ≈ 2–4 GB: a studio library quickly grows into tens of TBs. A combination of NVMe (for editing/hot delivery) + HDD RAID6 (for archiving) is the standard for media servers.
Describe your task — an engineer will select a server, calculate the price in tenge, and provide a delivery timeline. Custom assembly for any technical requirements.
Платформа с GPU (NVENC): 8–12 ядер, 64 ГБ, L4/RTX A2000, NVMe + 10GbE. Кодирует 10+ потоков в мультибитрейт без хрипов на пиках.
Yes: BigBlueButton/Jitsi for 100+ participants has the same requirements: CPU cores, memory, and network bandwidth. We calculate based on the number of rooms and recording needs.
CPU platform — from 1.5 million ₸; with GPU for high-density transcoding — 2.5–4 million ₸. For heavy transcoding farms, see our GPU server section.
