Platforms for VMware, Proxmox, and Hyper-V: high core counts, large memory capacity, and dense VM consolidation.

Base your calculations on the sum of VM resources plus 20% for the hypervisor. Best practice: 4–6 light VMs per physical core, memory without oversubscription. A host with 2× Xeon Gold and 256 GB of RAM reliably handles 25–40 small business VMs. Memory runs out before cores — choose a platform with extra DDR4/DDR5 slots.
For Kazakhstan in 2026, Proxmox is the most popular choice: it is free, supports live migration, snapshots, and avoids sanction risks related to licensing. Hyper-V is logical in a Windows infrastructure, and VMware is used where it is already purchased. The hardware is the same; we install and configure any of them.
NVMe in RAID 1 or RAID 10 for datastores — random access from dozens of VMs instantly overwhelms SATA arrays. We recommend a separate pair of disks for Veeam/PBS backups. If you have two or more hosts, consider shared storage or replication: we can help with the design.
Two mid-range hosts are almost always better than one top-tier one: live migration, zero-downtime updates, and fault tolerance. A cluster of two Dell R650s costs about the same as one fully loaded R760, but it will survive the failure of either node.

A single processor with at least 12 cores, 128 GB of RAM, and a pair of NVMe drives in RAID 1 — for example, a Dell R450 or HPE DL360 Gen10. Such a host can handle a typical small business stack: domain controller, file server, 1C, CRM, and test environments.
A dual-processor platform on Xeon Gold with 256–512 GB of RAM can handle 30–60 productive VMs depending on the load. Memory is usually the bottleneck, so having spare slots is important—our configurations include them.
Yes, refurbished Dell R640/R740 and HPE Gen9/Gen10 are the most economical way to build a Proxmox cluster: two nodes with 256 GB RAM are cheaper than one new one. We provide a warranty on all refurbished hardware.
Entry-level host starts from 1.2–1.5 million tenge; a dual-processor node with 256 GB starts from 2.5–4 million. We provide a free, turnkey quote for a two-node cluster with Proxmox and backups on the day of your request.
