Medical data is the most 'heavy' and critical: a single CT scan is hundreds of megabytes, and studies must be stored for years. A server for a clinic requires fast disks for HIS and a secure, high-capacity archive for PACS.
A CT scan is 100–500 MB, while an MRI can be up to 1 GB. A clinic with one scanner generates 3–8 TB per year. Archives are built in tiers: recent studies on SSDs, and annual archives on HDD RAID6.
